Grace Kertz is the 2024 Student Entrepreneur of the Year at UMKC and has built two separate ventures. Sensory Sync, an AI-driven DEI tool creating more inclusive workplaces for sensory averse individuals and Flex with Pizazz, a personal training business championing intuitive movement and optimized momentum for women seeking intentional wellness. About the Speakers
Grace Kertz | founder of Sensory Sync
Grace Kertz is the founder of a startup, Sensory Sync, a DEI and retention tool for employers that uses Artificial Intelligence to accommodate sensory averse employees. She was honored as UMKC’s Student Entrepreneur of the Year in 2024 for her innovative concept, use of human-centered design, and progress. In fall 2025, Grace completed UMKC’s Entrepreneurship Scholars Program, a rigorous course designed to make entrepreneurial concepts a reality. In October 2025, she launched Flex with Pizazz: personal training enhancing women’s health through intuitive movement and optimized momentum. Grace’s work centers on inclusion, innovation, and human well-being.
In addition to her entrepreneurial pursuits, Grace has cultivated a varied background in marketing, fitness, and performance. She is on track to graduate from UMKC this May 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Marketing and a minor in Communication Studies. This past summer, Grace completed an advertising internship at Adfarm. She is a Certified Personal Trainer and group fitness instructor, teaching dance and weightlifting classes at Swinney Recreation Center. Grace also pursues vocal performance part-time, with highlights including a role in the opera Suor Angelica and participation in the University of Mannheim’s choir during her study abroad in Germany.
